Code Review and Refactoring for a Large-Scale Web Application

The main issues with the codebase are: 1. Inefficient database queries due to the misuse of eager loading and lazy loading; 2. Lack of proper caching mechanisms, leading to repeated computations and slowdowns; 3. Inconsistent naming conventions and lack of adherence to established coding standards; 4. Inefficient use of memory, resulting in garbage collection pauses and system slowdowns; To address these issues, we propose the following solutions: 1. Implement query optimization techniques, such as index tuning and query rewrites; 2. Introduce caching mechanisms, such as Redis or Memcached, to reduce database load; 3. Establish a coding standard and enforce it through tools like linters and code formatters; 4. Optimize memory usage by reducing object creation, using weak references, and leveraging Java's garbage collection settings.
